CISCO ROBLES - PERFORMER, MUSICIAN, PRODUCER, AND SONGWRITER...... .. Born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1956, Cisco began singing in church and playing guitar at age 11. Due to his exposure to Folk, Rock, R&B and Jazz, his style of playing became a creative mixture of these styles. By age 17, he had played in numerous local bands, including a fusion band he formed that included musicians: Cecil McBee, Jr. on bass, John Lawrey on drums, and the late Kenny Kirkland ..boards... .. Shortly thereafter, Cisco joined a R&B group called “The Philadelphia Story” where they traveled and became a regular fixture on the Minneapolis, Minnesota, music scene in the 1970s. The same scene as Prince, Alexander O’Neill, and Morris Day... .. Cisco then moved to Los Angeles, California, where he played with numerous R&B bands before becoming the guitarist for a local Reggae band called “Jah Moon,” founded by Reggie Butler, who played with Jimi Hendrix during Hendrix’s Cafe Wah days.
