Phil started playing Guitar at the age of 12, being inspired by john Petrucci of Dream Theater and Jeff Loomis of Nevermore. In 2010 Phil had gathered to form "Enceledus"; a Progressive Heavy Metal band out of the humboldt county area. through out the next few years the band had quickly established themselves in their local area,including playing local festivals and live radio performances.
"At the 2012 winter NAMM I played the Gladius SW, being attracted to it's vibrant yellow green swirl, and after just seconds of playing it, I was amazed by the feel. The tones are bright and full, and the neck is extremely fast and smooth, almost immediately I adjusted to the guitar" - Phil Parnell
